Coincidence aided by algorythms has brought up this session in my stream. I kind of knew Jon, though merely passingly, due to the album "Diamond Mine" which he did together with King Creosote, so I was curious.
In case you don't know that one, it's an marvellous album, using field recordings, intimate folk and home made instrumentation, breathtakingly beautiful vocals, more subtle electronics and album / track titles all working together for some captivating story telling. A true gem of an album, a masterpiece. Quiet and rich.
This is an older solo session Jon did for a listener suported radio station in Seattle. Our friend @Charles Roth MPC
may know more about it. Or not. It's absolutely more typical for an electronic artist, and this is electronic music live production, so I recommend watching him manipulating his sonics down to tiny little details. It's a pleasure to watch. Well, at least for me.
And here is a bit from that Diamond Mine album. Close your eyes.
And this Tiny Desk concert might be missing some of the dense and deep production of the album, but it's such a beauty nonetheless. And finding that it's actually Jon playing the key based instruments ... did not expect that.
