Colour me gobsmacked. Evidently RSS is not a connection type in ActivityPub world. I just assumed. @Mike Macgirvin was this an original Mistpark thing or Friendik/ca?

It started with Mistpark v2 back in 2010, and I kept it until recently. They still exist in Hubzilla but they need to be sourced into a channel to federate to ActivityPub. I discovered even more recently (last week) that ActivityStreams allows them, but ActivityPub (which sits on top of ActivityStreams) doesn't, so it's just a case of protocols built by people who never learned the value of open platforms.
